That's weird because I've just downloaded the application and the process went through without any problems.
The first thing that I recommend doing, in case you haven't already, is making sure that you have enough free storage space on the partition where you're downloading the file. Even if there's enough space, you can try changing the download location to a different partition just in case there are some errors with the drive that you're currently using.
If that's not the problem, then try deactivating your download manager in case you're using one. Lastly, you might want to use a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Opera and see if one of them can complete the download process.

If the application is not working properly, then I would recommend downloading the latest package available on the official website. The problem could be caused by application corruption or registry faults.
The HP Support Assistant does not interfere with the screen rotation. The problem is with your display adapter. Since most of the HP use Intel HD graphics cards, you can use the following combination to rotate the screen:
0 degrees (normal/upright): Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow
90 degrees (quarter turn clockwise): Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow
180 degrees (upside down): Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow
270 degrees (quarter turn counter-clockwise): Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow

Please go to Device Manager and make sure that the printer is available and has no yellow or red signs. After this go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and check if the printer is listed there. Drivers reinstallation is also recommended. If you have multiple devices in 'Printers' category, make sure that you chose the one you use and made it as a default printer.
Another solution: Check the cable or replace with another one to eliminate another problem.

I have checked the FAQ page, but couldn't find anything related to Fax History. The available topics don't mention anything related to history. However, you have the possibility of downloading the Setup and User guide from the same page. You can find additional information in those documents.
You need to install Bluetooth driver first. You can do this using the Support CD available for your device. When this is finished, start the wireless and Bluetooth module using FN + Wireless button and the services will be turned on.
Printer will not let me change paper size settings - no option for 8.5 x 11 - all options are for small photo sizes.

The paper size option will provide all the supported paper sizes for the model you have. If there is no paper size to match your settings, it means it can't print them. However, instead of choosing the correct one, just use an international format A4, A5, A2, A3 (depending on your printer) and then cut it with a cutter and that's it. It's the easiest way to solve this problem when the printer doesn't have support for a certain paper size.

Press the Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc. Locate the printer in the list and make sure it's installed properly. If there is a red or yellow sign next to it, then you'll have to reinstall the drivers again. These devices come with their own CD. In case you don't have the possibility to install from Internet, then the CD solution is more than enough. After installation, reboot the PC and try to print again. In the Print window, select the printer and continue with the operation.
Additionally, check the printer for any possible errors and make sure the laser toner is in its place.
